On July 27, the 10th Auunal Grand River Classic and Downtown Car Show held a fundraiser for YouthZone. The fundraiser was coordinated by Michael Whiddon of the 811 Call Before You Dig organization. Vehicle owners and spectators voted for their favorite vehicle by donating to YouthZone at $1 per vote. $855 was raised to support YouthZone programming. A 1962 Shasta travel trailer owned by Richard and Vicky Nash of Glenwood Springs and a 1965 Ford Mustang owned by Richard and Elaine Kauffman of Centennial, Colorado, tied for first place with 292 votes each. Second place was won by a 2008 Dodge Ram 740 HP truck owned by Tim Boyle.
Thanks to the Valley Cruisers and all the sponsors who hosted the car show, Michael Whiddon for coordinating the YouthZone fundraiser, Paul Carlson for building a great leader board sign for YouthZone, and all the participants and donors who made this fundraiser a success.
