Understanding SB94 - YouthZone's Senate Bill 94 Program
The statewide SB94 recently awarded YouthZone the SB94 Program of the Year for its services and dedication to the betterment of youth. The focus of SB94 in our district (Garfield, Rio Blanco, and Pitkin counties) is to provide in-depth screening, case management, and tracking services for youth, ages 10 to 17, who are at a district court level. The goal of this program is to provide an alternative to traditional detention facilities through supervision, monitoring, and community support services.
About the Program
YouthZone's Senate Bill 94 Program is dedicated to understanding and implementing the measures outlined in the landmark Senate Bill 94 (SB94). This critical juvenile justice legislation offers community-based alternatives to detention for young people, ensuring that the youth can grow, learn, and thrive in their communities instead of detention centers. Our primary goal is to provide an environment that fosters the capacity for change, reduces the likelihood of future legal involvement, and develops productive, responsible youth.
The SB94 program offer a carefully built support system that includes comprehensive assessments, individual, group, and family counseling, skill-building activities, case management, and accountability boards. Additionally, our team provides vital resources such as referral services to other appropriate agencies when necessary.
Since the implementation of YouthZone's SB94 program, we witnessed a noted decrease in the recidivism rate among participating youth. We are proud that our programs have helped countless young people reintegrate into society, exhibit positive change, and avoid reoffending.
Join our journey in reshaping futures and creating a brighter tomorrow for the affected youth. Get involved today and make a difference in a young person’s life with YouthZone. Learn more about SB94 or explore other youth programs we provide at YouthZone.
