THANK YOU | A Soggy Golf Tournament Turned Success

Thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s YouthZone Charity Golf Tournament at Rifle Creek Golf Course. It was a soggy day of golf and we deeply appreciate everyone for tackling the wet weather. Your generous support has enabled us to provide guidance and assistance to youth and their families in the Roaring Fork and Grand River Valley communities.

When the clouds gathered and the sky darkened, it appeared that a rainstorm was on the horizon. But, the charitable golfers at the YouthZone’s Annual Golf Tournament remained undeterred and ready to hit the links. After all, the success of the tournament was highly dependent upon their participation and generosity.

The tournament was held at Rifle Creek Golf Course on June 2. Over 20 teams came out to support the YouthZone’s mission to provide comprehensive assessment and advocacy to inspire healthy relationships between youth, families, and communities. Participants came from near and far for the benefit of helping those in need.

Despite the showers and the wind, the event went off without a hitch! The golfers mustered up true enthusiasm as they set off on their 18–hole journey around the course. The event coordinators made sure to provide everyone with handwarmers and a special golf towel to dry off with from First Bank, so no one was left feeling soggy or uncomfortable.

The tournament offered a variety of prizes for golfers to win on each hole—including longest drives, closest to the swiggle, beat the LPGA, and hole-in-one Jeep by Berthod Motors. As the rain slowly tapered off, and the sun tired to make an appearance in the early afternoon, the final strokes were taken. To celebrate the successful end of the tournament, the winners were presented with their prizes, an opportunity draw, and accolades.

At the end of the day, despite the inclement weather, the tournament was a great success. The event raised much needed funds, and everyone had a great time. A big thank you goes out to all of the amazing participants and volunteers who came out in the rain and made this tournament a success!
